MTC has reaffirmed its commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and national economic development by sponsoring the 2026 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) with N$350,000.

In addition to the cash sponsorship, MTC provided more than N$12,000 worth of airtime to support the organising committee's preparations, as well as branded merchandise valued at more than N$20,000 for OATF personnel.

Tim Ekandjo, MTC's Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer, said the company's continued support reflected its belief in the trade fair's contribution to Namibia's economic growth.

"The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair continues to demonstrate the transformative power of partnerships in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for Namibian businesses. At MTC, we believe that investing in showcases such as the OATF is an investment in entrepreneurs, innovation and the communities they serve. We are proud to reaffirm our support for a showcase that has, for 25 years, connected businesses, inspired enterprise and contributed meaningfully to Namibia's economic development," said Ekandjo.

Welcoming guests, Ongwediva Mayor Naemi Amuthenu described the trade fair as "our economic heartbeat", adding that sponsorships represented "an investment in business development, entrepreneurship, job creation, innovation and the future prosperity of our town and our country".

Celebrating its 25th anniversary under the theme, "A Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy", this year's gala underscored the shared commitment of government and the private sector to strengthening one of Namibia's leading business exhibitions.

MTC said it looked forward to participating in the 2026 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair, which will be held in August.
