Namibia Breweries welcomes new graduates
Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) this week welcomed six new graduates into its Local Graduate Development Programme. The initiative is part of the company’s commitment to nurturing local talent, contributing to national development and contributing to Namibia’s efforts to reduce unemployment, NBL said. The new graduates, who officially joined NBL on 23 July, will be placed across key business units.
They are Celine Shilongo, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology, and will be placed in the human resources department; Undja Kasete who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration; and Niita Kanime who holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting who will both be placed in the finance department; Roeline Beukes, who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and will be placed in the marketing department; Ndeiweda Ndaamekele who holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and will be placed in the engineering department; and Hilya Shuuya, who holds a Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and will be placed in the logistics department.
According to NBL MD Waldemar von Lieries, the programme is a reflection of the brewer’s commitment to Namibia’s development and a belief in the potential of the youth. “As a proudly Namibian company, we believe it is our responsibility to invest in the future of our country by empowering young people with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive,” Von Lieres said.
NBL human resources manager Caryn Eliasov-Barker echoed Von Lieres’ sentiments, saying: “We are incredibly proud to welcome this new cohort of graduates. Through this programme, we aim to equip them with the tools, experience and confidence to thrive not only within NBL, but across the broader business landscape.”
