Shiyuka leads Ongava board
Ongava has appointed Namibian business executive Amos Shiyuka as chairman of the boards of Ongava Game Reserve (Pty) Ltd and Ongava Hai//om Tourism (Pty) Ltd.
The appointment comes as Ongava continues to strengthen its governance and advance its long-term conservation and tourism strategy.
Shiyuka brings extensive executive and boardroom experience across the conservation, finance, telecommunications, technology and manufacturing sectors. He currently chairs Save the Rhino Trust Namibia, which focuses on protecting Namibia’s free-roaming desert-adapted black rhinos, and serves as an independent non-executive director of Namibia Breweries Limited.
He is also chairman of the Namport Social Investment Fund and an independent non-executive director of NovaNam/Pescanova. In the private sector, he is founder and executive director of Mobicash Payment Solutions and executive chairman of CSS Tactical Solutions Namibia. He previously served as managing director of Trustco Mobile and held senior positions in the telecommunications industry.
Shiyuka holds a Master of Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management.
In a statement, Ongava said his leadership and governance experience would help guide the organisation through its next phase of growth while supporting its conservation objectives.
