Xallamo takes Red Bull Dance Your Style crown

Windhoek-based dancer Xallamo has been crowned the first Red Bull Dance Your Style Namibia champion following the national final dance-off at The Loft on Saturday.

He will represent Namibia at the international showdown in Switzerland in October.

More than 70 dancers entered the competition during the semi-finals, held at UN Plaza on 8 August. Sixteen dancers – comprising eight finalists and eight wildcards – went head-to-head in the final dance battle.

The unique competition format gave the audience the power to decide which dancers advanced to the next round and, ultimately, who was crowned the winner.

Xallamo expressed his excitement at the opportunity to represent Namibia internationally, saying it would be his first time travelling abroad.

The event, which brought together dancers, artists and dance enthusiasts, was hailed as a significant moment for Namibia’s growing dance industry and is expected to become an annual national competition.
