Celebrating independence with pride

Learners and teachers came together to celebrate Namibia’s Independence Day in a vibrant and meaningful way.

The celebration included cultural performances, speeches and moments of reflection on the country’s journey to freedom.

Learners expressed their heritage through traditional attire, music and dance. The event reminded everyone of the importance of unity, respect and national pride.

The programme began with a warm welcome and an opening address that highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made by those who fought for Namibia’s freedom. Speakers encouraged learners to value their rights and responsibilities as young citizens, while also inspiring them to contribute positively to the nation’s future.

Various cultural groups took to the stage, showcasing Namibia’s rich diversity through energetic dances and traditional songs. Each performance was met with applause and excitement, creating an atmosphere of celebration and appreciation for the country’s cultural heritage.

Learners also shared poems and short reflections, expressing gratitude and hope for continued peace and development.

Teachers played an important role in guiding and supporting the learners, ensuring that the event was both educational and enjoyable. The celebration not only honoured Namibia’s history but also strengthened the bond among learners and staff.
