Learners at Baumgartsbrunn Primary School have a reason to smile following a N$25 000 donation from First National Bank (FNB), in partnership with the Namibian Revenue Agency (NamRA).

The handover took place at Baumgartsbrunn Primary School last Tuesday.

The donation, comprising essential goods, was also extended to the Annelie Olivier Old Age Home, demonstrating support for both young learners and the elderly in the community.

FNB received N$25 000 after being named the Overall Top Tax Contributor at NamRA’s Taxpayer Appreciation Day in April 2025 and chose to give it back to the community.

For the approximately 400 learners at Baumgartsbrunn Primary School, the donation is expected to make a real difference to their daily school experience. Principal Zerilda Garises said the moment was about more than just supplies. “It’s about showing our learners that they are supported and valued,” she said.

NamRA Commissioner Sam Shivute highlighted the importance of businesses contributing to national development, adding that tax contributions help create opportunities that directly benefit communities.

The Annelie Olivier Old Age Home in Rehoboth, which houses 28 residents, also received support, bridging the gap between generations and reminding young people of the importance of giving back.

FNB Group Chief Financial Officer, Lizette Smit, said that they chose to support two equally deserving institutions, as “these two beneficiaries hold a very special place in the fabric of our community”.
