Head Boy & Head Girl
Head Girl: Stephanie van Wyk
Being appointed head girl this year has been a surreal and humbling experience. I am truly grateful to God for guiding and strengthening me throughout this journey. My favourite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, reminds me that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
For me, being head girl is more than just a title; it is a responsibility and an opportunity to serve, lead and inspire fellow learners. Although the role comes with challenges, my faith gives me the courage to keep going. I hope to make a positive difference in my school community and leave a lasting legacy through dedication, humility and service.
Head Boy: Kennedy Angula
Being head boy of M&K Gertze High School, the Home of Top Achievements & Excellence, is more than wearing a badge - it's carrying a legacy.
At first it feels like pride. Pride to stand over 900 learners in Rehoboth and represent the brown and cream coulour of my school. Pride when the Grade 8s look at you and see what they want to become.
Then it feels like responsibility. Our school taught us that excellence is not just in academics, but in how we work with our hands, how we respect our teachers, and how we carry ourselves on and off the school grounds. As head boy, I have to live that every day. I have to be early when I'm tired, respectful when it's hard, and strong when my team needs me.
But most of all, it feels like gratitude. Gratitude to the teachers who shaped me, to our principal and my parents who believed in me, and to every learner who trusted me to be their voice.
I am not leading because I am the best at M&K Gertze. I am leading because M&K Gertze made me the best version of myself.
