Figures Models Namibia hosts a national scouting and casting event at Pioneers Park Primary School in Windhoek on Saturday, as it searches for the country's next generation of modelling and entertainment talent.

The organisation, which provides training in building confidence, etiquette, public speaking, photographic modelling, runway techniques and personal development, says the casting is open to aspiring models and performers aged between 2 and 32.

According to the organisers, participants will take part in portfolio photography, a runway assessment, photographic posing and a short commercial presentation.

The event will also give aspiring models an opportunity to meet industry professionals, learn more about the modelling industry and be considered for future campaigns, fashion shows, acting opportunities and international development programmes.

Figures Models Namibia says it has previously prepared models for both local and international platforms through its training and development programmes. Organisation spokesperson Juanita Dahm said the initiative aimed to help young people develop confidence and life skills.

"At Figures Models Namibia, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to build confidence and discover their potential," Dahm said. "This is about more than modelling. It is about empowering young people, developing life skills and opening doors to new opportunities."

The event has received support from CMC Private Hospital, which has provided the venue as part of its community outreach initiatives.

The hospital said the sponsorship formed part of its commitment to community development, support for women's awareness campaigns planned for August, and encouraging young people to pursue their talents.

"We believe every child deserves a fair opportunity to grow, develop and succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances," the hospital said.

Nampath Laboratories is the event's main sponsor and will provide staging and production support.
