Mr and Miss Augustineum
The Mr and Miss Augustineum pageant was held at Augustineum Secondary School on 10 July under the theme “The 2026 World Cup”. The event celebrated confidence, creativity, fashion and artistic expression, bringing learners and teachers together for an evening of entertainment and school spirit.
The pageant was organised by Ausha Abrahams in collaboration with the Learner Representative Council (LRC), whose members worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly.
Contestants took to the stage dressed according to the theme, showcasing their confidence, creativity and individual personalities as they competed for the coveted titles.
The audience was also treated to an exciting line-up of performances throughout the evening. The event featured a performance by headliner Yeezir, as well as a surprise appearance by Shax Champion, whose acts kept the crowd entertained between the modelling segments.
Several Augustineum learners also took to the stage to showcase their talents, adding to the already electric atmosphere in the hall.
One learner described the evening by saying: “The vibes were immaculate. Every performance kept us entertained, and the energy never dropped.”
The highlight of the evening came with the announcement of the winners of the Mr and Miss Augustineum titles. After impressive displays of confidence, creativity and stage presence from all the contestants, Steven Richter was crowned Mr Augustineum, while Lumono Mukubesa was crowned Miss Augustineum.
Speaking after the crowning, Lumono said: “Winning this title is an incredible honour. It has shown me that confidence, hard work and believing in yourself truly pay off. I’m grateful to everyone who supported me throughout this journey.”
The pageant was a success, bringing together learners, teachers and guests for an evening of fashion, entertainment and Omguzi school spirit.
The event not only showcased the talent and creativity of Augustineum learners but also strengthened the sense of unity and pride within the school community.
Congratulations to all the contestants, winners, organisers and performers who contributed to making the evening a memorable celebration. The Omguzi community can now look forward to another exciting edition of the pageant in the future.
