Namibia Air: Your thoughts
Joel Carvallo (23)
I think it’s good that the government is investing in new aeroplanes. This will make travel between Namibia and other countries easier. The new airline will help develop the Namibian economy by bringing foreign currency into the country. Namibia has one of the seven wonders of Africa, and the new airline will help boost tourism in the country. I think Namibia Air will also be cheaper compared with the foreign airlines that are currently operating in the country.

I think Namibia is going to benefit financially from Namibia Air. Instead of people spending money on foreign airlines, they will now be spending their money on the new Namibia Air, helping to raise Namibia’s GDP and increase local revenue.

In my view, the introduction of Namibia Air would be a positive development for Namibia. It has the potential to create employment opportunities, stimulate economic growth and support related sectors such as tourism and hospitality. It could also increase competition in the domestic aviation sector and contribute to more affordable airfares. This would promote greater inclusivity by making air transport more accessible to ordinary Namibians, particularly the elderly, people with disabilities and those who may find long-distance road travel difficult. Overall, Namibia Air could contribute to economic development while improving access to safe, reliable and affordable domestic transport.

The introduction of the new Namibian airline will make it easier for foreigners to travel to and from Namibia. The new airline will help with the transportation of goods and people. It will reduce the time required to travel, especially for businesspeople. It will help boost tourism in Namibia. It can also create employment opportunities. It will increase government revenue, which can be used to develop the country. Finally, Namibia Air can help people supply and receive their goods in a timely manner.

Namibia Air will benefit the Namibian economy as we will now be receiving money in our own currency. As we see now, South African Airways is tremendously expensive, while other airlines require passengers to pay in US dollars. So, all of that money that is going out of the country will now flow back into the Namibian economy. The new airline will put a lot of Namibian travellers at ease, as well as foreigners coming into the country, because they will be paying in Namibian currency. I don’t think it takes a lot to become an airline attendant, so the new airline will help create more jobs.

In my opinion as an Angolan, the introduction of the new airline is really good for Namibia, especially in terms of the Namibian economy. Something I have noticed is the lack of jobs, so I think the new airline will help create more jobs in Namibia, as well as more opportunities for Namibians. I think the introduction of the new airline will make it easier for us as foreign nationals to enter Namibia because many of the current airlines do not have flights from Angola to Namibia.
