Golden Hills Primary School in Havana has received a much-needed boost after the Capricorn Group stepped in to help the school recover from last year’s devastating floods.

Through its ChangeMaker employee volunteer programme, Capricorn partnered with Neo Paints, Transworld Cargo and Integrated Branding to support the school, which serves more than 700 learners. Many of the children were displaced when heavy rains and flash floods hit the Havana and Otjomuise areas in 2025.

Since then, the school has been operating under difficult conditions, without enough proper office and storage space. To help, the partners donated a refurbished shipping container that has been converted into an office and storage facility. The new unit gives school management a safe space to handle administration and store important materials.

The team also donated essential supplies, including a high-capacity printer and other school material to support teachers and learners. Transworld Cargo handled the transport of the container, Neo Paints supplied paint to brighten up the new space, and Integrated Branding assisted with finishing touches to ensure the facility was ready for use.

Capricorn Group's Victoria Moller said the project shows how businesses can work together to support communities in need. She added that the aim was not only to provide practical support, but also to help restore stability and dignity for children who have gone through a difficult time.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education attended the handover and described the support as an important addition to government efforts in underserved areas.

School leaders thanked the partners, saying the new office and supplies would immediately improve daily operations and create a better learning environment for learners.
