Scholarship supports Accounting students
The University of Namibia (UNAM) Foundation and STANLIB Namibia reaffirmed their commitment to higher education during a scholarship handover ceremony, where more than N$100 000 was donated to support three Accounting students at the university.
The ceremony brought together representatives of STANLIB Namibia, UNAM leadership, staff and students to mark another milestone in the partnership between the two institutions. The funding will provide financial assistance to the students, helping them to focus on their studies and academic goals.
Speaking at the event, representatives of the UNAM Foundation highlighted the importance of investing in education and creating opportunities for young Namibians. The foundation expressed appreciation for STANLIB Namibia’s continued support of higher education initiatives.
The beneficiaries were encouraged to make the most of the opportunity and to continue striving for academic excellence. Speakers described the scholarship as an investment not only in the students themselves but also in Namibia’s future workforce and economic development.
The UNAM Foundation highlighted its ongoing fundraising efforts aimed at supporting students and community development projects. Fundraising coordinator Nanguloshi Kamutushi said the foundation hosts a range of events throughout the year to raise funds for key programmes.
“Through events such as our upcoming gala dinner, golf day and veterinary hospital open day, we continue to raise funds that support students and strengthen community-focused projects,” Kamutushi said.
The planned events will contribute towards student support initiatives, as well as the continued development of the university’s veterinary hospital and related community services.
