Triumphant College officially began its 2026 academic year with an orientation ceremony on 18 February at its main campus in Khomasdal, Windhoek. Held under the theme “Shaping the Future,” the event welcomed new and returning students with a programme of reflection, motivation and forward-looking commitments.

The keynote address was delivered by Deputy Minister of Education, Dino Ballotti. A passionate sports advocate and coach, Ballotti also announced plans to develop sports facilities on the vacant municipal land next to Triumphant College. “On 19 November 2026, I look forward to returning for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of Triumphant College,” he said.

The ceremony included an academic procession, choir performances and cultural activities. It served not only to welcome students but also to share the college’s goals for the year ahead.

In his welcoming remarks, Professor Geoffrey Kiangi, Triumphant College Rector, urged students to take their studies seriously and remain focused. “Although the education is subsidised, it should not be wasted,” he said. “It is a sacrifice made by those who believe in education, and students must honour that by working hard. Freedom without discipline can be self-destructive. I encourage all learners to be ambassadors of excellence and greatness.”

The programme emphasised responsibility, dedication and the importance of self-discipline. Students were reminded that success requires consistent effort and commitment to both personal and professional growth.

Morris Samuel, President of the Triumphant College Student Representative Council, told students, “Greatness is never handed out for free. You have made it through kindergarten, primary school, high school and NAMCOL, so you can make it through university.”

He added, “You are what you think you are, and what you think you are is what you will become.”

Samuel also introduced the other members of his SRC team to the student body.

The orientation ceremony delivered a clear and inspiring message: the future is shaped by the actions we take today. With a focus on accessible education, student discipline and sports development, Triumphant College is positioning 2026 as a year of growth, innovation and impact.
