“I’m actually bothered by the free SMSes being discontinued. Apart from me, there are many people out there who are financially struggling. It was a privilege for us to use MTC’s free SMS service. The question is whether MTC will offer anything else to replace the free SMSes. They really helped a lot of needy people. It was our way of communicating when we were unable to make a call. At least we could make use of the free SMSes from MTC. I just hope MTC considers the people who are struggling out there."

"I’m not bothered by MTC discontinuing the free SMSes. There were not that many SMSes to begin with. MTC is only removing the free SMSes that you received when you recharged. For instance, if you recharged with N$10, you only received two free SMSes. So it’s not really a loss."

"Personally, I’m not bothered by the discontinuation of MTC’s free SMSes. I hardly even notice that we have them. Whenever my airtime runs out, I usually recharge immediately, which makes it easy to overlook the fact that MTC provides free SMSes."

"I’m not affected by the discontinuation of the free SMSes because I subscribe to a monthly data plan. However, I think it affects people who need the service, especially those who use it for emergencies or day-to-day communication."

"I’m not really bothered by MTC discontinuing the free SMSes because I don’t use them very much. Many people now communicate online through WhatsApp and other social media platforms, so I think those most affected are people who do not use smartphones and still rely on SMSes to communicate."

"I am bothered by MTC taking away the free SMSes because there were times when you could not get airtime or were far from any vendors. You could use the free SMSes to send a message asking someone to help you with airtime. Now that the free SMSes are gone, people may have to rely on services such as Taamba, which could result in more people getting into debt with MTC."
