What do you think about the police force being oversaturated and not being able to employ all the applicants?

The people who are being left out could apply elsewhere, and maybe that wasn’t their strongest suit, so they might not be suited for that sector. They can look for other places where they feel more comfortable, and yeah, they can apply elsewhere as well. Basically, that’s my point: they should not be discouraged and should always look for the best opportunities.

It doesn’t make sense because how are you going to allow 50 000 people to apply for a job and then only choose 2 000? What is really happening here? I have doubts about what they are thinking because you need to consider what will happen to the rest. At least you need to have a backup plan because it is not a good idea to leave the rest of the people without a job or anything.

It’s unfortunate that only 2 000 people were employed out of 50 000 [applicants] because I feel like the unemployment rate is very high right now. However, I feel the rest can still look for other jobs. It’s still disappointing that they were not employed, but there is still a chance for them to find work elsewhere.

My opinion on this is that it’s scary as a student because it puts you in a position where you start to question whether what you are studying is worth the time. It also makes you wonder whether you will find a job as quickly as you would hope. However, this does not make me too fearful, simply because of the course I am doing - procurement - and the fact that it allows you to venture into many different kinds of work.
