Young people in northern Namibia are set to benefit from the 2026 Recycling Heroes Project, launched by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) in Namibia, in partnership with local authorities and the Recycling Namibia Forum. The initiative aims to improve waste management while creating employment opportunities for youth, women and persons with disabilities. Participants receive training in waste sorting, health and safety, and recycling, with 244 people already trained. The project also formalises informal waste collection, strengthens the PET plastics recycling value chain, and introduces a waste collectors' database to improve coordination while supporting Namibia's circular economy and environmental goals.
