ZONE: SSS hosts 2026 My Zone media roadshow
On 13 March, the My Zone media roadshow brought together learners from Suiderlig, P.K. de Villiers and Keetmanshoop secondary schools for a workshop focused on media and communication.
The initiative aims to introduce learners to the media industry while equipping them with essential communication skills. In today’s digital environment, media literacy is increasingly important, and the roadshow highlighted opportunities for young people to express themselves and engage with information responsibly.
During the workshop, learners gained practical experience in journalism, broadcasting and digital design, with an emphasis on presentation and production skills. They were also introduced to design tools such as Canva, enabling them to explore visual communication and creativity.
Beyond technical skills, the programme encouraged personal development, confidence and self-expression, underscoring the importance of using one’s voice effectively.
