Haastig Medical Centre redefines compassionate healthcare in Windhoek
Where medical and aesthetic care coexist
At the heart of Windhoek's Haastig Medical Centre's mission to redefine healthcare stands a leader whose journey blends clinical excellence with visionary leadership. As CEO, Dr Fransina Ndahafa Frans has embarked on a mission to transform the way healthcare is experienced, combining medical precision with warmth, empathy and aesthetics.
“My decision to take on the role of CEO at Haastig Medical Centre was inspired by a vision to redefine how healthcare is experienced, combining medical excellence with a warm, personal touch,” she said.
"Over the years, I have seen how patients crave not just treatment but holistic care that addresses their confidence, well-being and overall quality of life," the medical doctor explained.
"Haastig Medical Centre allows me to merge my clinical expertise with my passion for aesthetics and skin health, creating a space where medical and aesthetic care coexist seamlessly to help people look and feel their best.”
Her work has been shaped by both clinical experience and leadership growth.
As a medical doctor, she has served in various roles, from leading adolescent health programmes to mentoring healthcare teams and building model clinics of care.
“These roles strengthened my understanding of systems, teamwork and patient-centred service," she noted.
Transforming roles
Participating in the WomenLift Leadership Journey has been equally transformative, she added.
"It has enhanced my leadership perspective, taught me to lead with authenticity and vision, and reinforced the importance of driving sustainable change.”
All these experiences, she said, equipped her with the resilience and strategic thinking required to lead Haastig Medical Centre confidently. Her goal is to position Haastig Medical Centre as a trusted and modern general practice that delivers high-quality medical care alongside advanced skin and aesthetic services.
“My priorities include building a strong clinical reputation, maintaining high ethical and professional standards, and ensuring every patient receives personalised, evidence-based care. I also want to cultivate a motivated, compassionate team that embodies the values of excellence, empathy, and innovation.”
True impact
Dr Frans aims to make a lasting impact by creating a practice that stands out for its quality, innovation, and patient experience, noting that through continuous learning, adoption of new technologies and integration of dermatology and aesthetic services into everyday clinical care, Haastig Medical Centre is set to become a model for comprehensive private healthcare.
“I also want to use my platform as a WomenLift fellow to inspire more women in medicine to take up leadership roles and venture into entrepreneurship, demonstrating that clinical care and business leadership can go hand in hand.”
She acknowledged that building a new medical centre comes with challenges such as financial sustainability, regulatory compliance and establishing a loyal client base.
“I plan to tackle these through careful planning, transparent systems and strategic partnerships,” she said.
“I believe in starting strong, setting clear operational processes, investing in staff development and using feedback to continuously refine services. My approach is both proactive and adaptive, ensuring that challenges are turned into learning opportunities for growth.”
What inspires her most, she said, is seeing transformation.
“In patients who regain confidence, in staff who grow in skill and self-belief, and in the community that benefits from quality care,” she said.
“I am motivated by purpose: the knowledge that every patient interaction is an opportunity to make someone’s life better. My WomenLift journey has also deepened my commitment to lead with impact and to create spaces where women in healthcare can rise, lead, and shape the future of medicine with courage and compassion.”
