The Dr Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun Foundation, led by businesswoman Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, donated N$105 000 last Friday to the Breast Cancer Association of Namibia.

The funds were raised during a Cancer Awareness Padel event hosted at the Namibia Padel Tennis Club in Windhoek.

In her keynote speech, Namundjebo-Tilahun said the foundation aims to make this event an annual occurrence, similar to the Elderly Early Christmas Carol she hosts every year.

The event was aimed at building on their commitment to breast cancer awareness, the Foundation, and promoting both health awareness and physical activity.

Breast cancer is a significant health issue in Namibia and globally, and the foundation is dedicated to initiatives that promote early detection, education and support for affected women.

The event featured a competitive padel tennis tournament, with teams of two players entering for N$3 000 per team.

All proceeds went toward educational programmes, cancer screenings and direct support for breast cancer patients.

Beyond the tournament, attendees engaged in breast cancer awareness sessions, listened to motivational guest speakers and accessed valuable resources at information booths.

Namundjebo-Tilahun pointed out the significance of this event in raising awareness and encouraging early detection, believing that such efforts are crucial for improving community health and saving lives.
