The Association for TVET Institutions in Namibia (ATVETIN) plays a key role in advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country. As Namibia continues to develop its economy, ATVETIN’s leadership is crucial in uniting TVET providers under a shared vision. By enhancing the image of TVET and aligning providers with common goals, ATVETIN has the potential to promote vocational education while shaping its future.



Main Function

One of ATVETIN’s main functions is to serve as a collective voice for TVET institutions, ensuring their interests are represented at both national and international levels. By collaborating with the Namibia Training Authority (NTA), Ministries of Education and other global and local partners, ATVETIN advocates for improving TVET standards, funding, and policy. This partnership ensures that TVET institutions remain aligned with the evolving needs of the labour market, preparing students with the skills needed for sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and IT.



A vital part of ATVETIN’s mission is enhancing the perception of TVET in Namibia. Historically, TVET has often been viewed as less prestigious than traditional higher education. However, through advocacy, public awareness campaigns, and collaboration with industry stakeholders, ATVETIN is working to change this perception.
