Uakaeta Tjiramba has been appointed as Bank Windhoek's new digital optimisation manager for data, products and projects.

Equipped with a bachelor of science in computer science and statistics from the University of Namibia and with over a decade of experience in the banking sector, Tjiramba brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. His professional background spans various areas, including retail product development, e-money ecosystems, pricing strategies, customer segmentation and payments modernisation.

In his new role, Tjiramba aims to align the bank’s technological innovation with strategic business objectives, ensuring that Bank Windhoek continues to deliver customer-centric solutions.

“I see my role evolving through three immediate priorities,” he said. “Firstly, I will focus on delivering the instant payment programme (IPP), which is crucial for enabling real-time, interoperable and seamless transactions for our customers. This will position the company at the forefront of Namibia’s rapidly evolving payment landscape.”

Furthermore, he is committed to supporting the retail banking services (RBS) division.

“By leveraging advanced analytics, I plan to empower RBS teams with actionable insights to drive data-driven decision-making and ultimately foster business growth,” he explained.

Finally, Tjiramba intends to promote collaboration across departments. “I will work closely with other teams to ensure the agile execution of key projects in the e-money space. Innovation and operational resilience will go hand in hand as we drive these initiatives forward,” he said.

Tjiramba is excited about the opportunity to lead transformative initiatives that directly impact customers’ financial lives. His personal motto aligns with this vision: “Strive to make a meaningful impact in everything I do.”

In his free time, Tjiramba enjoys watching football, spending time in nature and participating in horse racing.
