Concordia turns 40
A promising future
Concordia College's Independence Day was spent celebrating cultural groups and Namibia's independence. This day was also very special in particular because Concordia was celebrating its 40th birthday that day, which was a very exciting thing to experience. We were very blessed to be visited by award-winning artist Top Cheri, who put on a special performance for the learners.
We also witnessed other cultural groups dance, with several learners describing it as “amazing” to watch the various cultures in Namibia showcasing the dances they do.
The learners also got to try some traditional foods in order to experience what different cultural groups eat, and the we were inspired and entertained by various speeches delivered on the day.
Independence Day is meant to be spent enjoying the freedom and life we have been given by our ancestors and the people who come before us. We must be grateful and make use of this wonderful opportunity we have.
Concordia College's birthday is a celebration of being open for 40 years - going from a diamond factory to the magnificent school it is today, giving learners the opportunity to receive a good education that betters their lives.
We must enjoy, celebrate and make use of our lives and as Concordia College, we are so happy and grateful for how far we have come. There are big plans for the future and we are ready for the next independence and another year spent providing learners with good and affordable education.
No one knows what the future will bring, but it looks promising for us Concordians.
