The Jan Mohr Secondary School soccer team participated in The Annual Classic Clashes in which they upheld their school’s motto, being “Altyd My Beste.”

The soccer team took part in the Classic Clashes in which they won all their matches. They then qualified and went on to a Penalty shootout where they won all their games.

Jan Mohr Secondary School also hosted the Ace Classic tournament. They played against Amazing Kids and won 3:1 and also against A.Shipena where they won 1:0.

They then went to the finals against Dobra and they did their extreme best and won with 3:1. The boys’ soccer team not only proved themselves but also showed leadership skills and proved that they are able to work together on and off the field.

One of the boys on the team stood out amongst the rest who showed that hard work always pays off. Katiko Ngaihape played not only for the African Stars under 19 youth team but also for the Regional team level, for Omaheke Region in the under 17 and 20 division.

Katiko is well known as Xavi named after the Spanish player well known as Xavi Hernandez because of their similarities such as composure on the ball.

The Jan Mohr girls’ netball team also took part in the Classic Clashes where they also proved themselves and upheld the school’s motto. The match was kept alive by the Jan Mohr netball team captain, Vejaa Katunahange proved her team had not only dedication to win but also that they push through all obstacles until they achieve what they aspire to.

Another team member Vetaviza Murangi spoke about how they all worked together to win their match. “We can achieve so much as individuals but even more if we work together.”

The girls took 2019 by storm by winning their match against Delta the girls won their by 25:9. This proved that they indeed always do their best in all situations in school and outside. Learners learn so much from sport, they learn all sorts of skills such as perseverance and dedication they also learn problem solving skills which they can use in and out of school.

Nate Bennet once said “Winning all your matches doesn’t make you a winner, but perseverance does.”
