This is the second and last edition of The Oryx for the year 2016. This edition surely plays host to a great number of profound events and the journalists have owned up to their talents.

Since the previous edition, Westside High has been actively occupied with events like the Fund Day and Potjiekos Competition, our Environmental Club has been involved in beach clean-ups, the Westside soccer team played in the final run for the annual Classic Clashes, a number of our scholars serve on the Junior Town council where they served the community, Tattiana Pieterson was elected to play for the Erongo regional girls'' soccer team, the Lower Primary playground underwent a transformation, we even had a visit from a previous learner, Gilbert Hainuca, who is currently studying in Jamaica and also representing Namibia on the athletics arena.

Throughout this edition, the readers can expect to be enlightened on the achievements of our scholars as well as the advancements and the challenges of recreation facilities like the community gym.

I would like to grant a humble thank you to everyone who has contributed to the compilation of this edition. A big thank you to the teachers who showed their continuous support with regards to interviews being conducted and the editorial team, who invested their time and enthusiasm in writing articles and conducting interviews, your efforts are noted.

Thank you to the parents and the community as a whole, who contributed to the successes of the events held at our school. We have high hopes that our matric scholars will excel in the eminent examination. We wish you all the best.

Lastly, it was an honour serving as the editor for the second edition of The Oryx and to be art and parcel of our very triumphant, Westside High School.
