Ever wanted to attend a conference with the country’s most successful entrepreneurs? Well, KSS got that chance! It all went down on the breezy Friday morning of 12 July, when our very own KSS learners were warmly welcomed by the owner and Director of Ceremony Mr Cliff Shikuambi of LSK Consulting for the first ever employers and industry based partners in conversation with high school learners. The aim of this conference was to educate and encourage our young aspiring entrepreneurs to take the lead when it comes to innovation and setting new trends.

The learners were nervously seated in the Narraville Community Hall where they were introduced to their fellow scholars. There were pupils from Kuisebmond Secondary School, Duinesig Combined School, Swakopmund Secondary School, Kollin Foundation Secondary School, Westside High School, Flamingo High School, Duneside High School, De Duine High School, Tutaleni High School as well as the Namib High School.

They were welcomed by the phenomenon speakers in the first session namely; Mrs Tapewa Kadhikwa, the owner of Twapewa Kwadhikwa Institute of Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Mr Brent Eiseb, the CEO of Namibia Daimond Trading Company , Mrs Ipupa Kasheeta, the founder of Ipupa Grow You, followed by Mr Jacob Orange who all made emphasis on the importance of learning, researching and keeping on learning when it comes to making a success of your business or career.

The learners then received an hour break which allowed them to network and socialise with their fellow pupils from other schools before getting back to business. The second session was just as powerful as the first. This time we had the honour to be in the presence of the first female acting CEO of EBH Namibia, Mrs Heritha Nankole Muyoba who gave us a glimpse of her road to her position today. “You should always treat yourself like a water lily and always be above water’’. Another lady to grace the stage has both the beauty and the brains and she was Mrs Estrolita Peterson, who was crowned Mrs Namibia Globe and Mrs Universal and represented Namibia in both China and USA. She also owns her own construction company and left us with of a quote that she lives by that says “the purpose of life is a life of purpose’’. Mr Heinrich Hafeni, ,the owner of Hafeni’s Traditional Resturant and Mr Paul Ndjambula from Erongo Marine Enterprises also voiced out their opinions on young learners having the ability to identifying opportunity and making the most of it. ‘I must say I’m glad I could host all of you and have these legends talk to you’’ were the words that Mr Shikuambi delivered when he handed all the pupils a Successful Entrepreneurship (20 nuggets of truth that will propel you to success), authored by Mrs Twapewa Kadhikwa.
