Being born in the 21st century has so many perks as to know how to use advanced technology faster. Let me elaborate since technology is what the 21st-century people are mostly focused on and it would be an amazing chance for schools to educate us through the advanced technology. If we had IPads as textbooks our bags would be so much lighter, my fellow learners would be more intrigued to do schoolwork and be more excited to go to school. I am rooting for the IPad as textbooks because it will enhance both our knowledge in school and on technology. You are probably thinking that we just want to have an excuse to be on our gadgets which is completely wrong because the world is upgrading in a technological way which will keep us up to date with what goes on in the world in a much better and faster way. By now we all know that technology is slowly but surely taking over and no one ever likes to be left behind.

A lot of teens would actually agree since as a learner progresses to a higher grade the textbooks become much heavier and this brings exhaustion which leads to some laziness as well. There are so many ways in which this idea could help our future the generation to come because by that time new and more advanced technology would be out. We won’t need to read about it in a book as the information would be on the internet. Making Ipads/tablets our textbooks also helps us to save more trees and save the planet. It also reduces the costs of textbooks that the school has to order and it doesn’t waste time to search information wanted. It is convenient. Generations have gone by and things definitely changed especially when it comes to school. Private school that have already implemented the idea of using IPad rather than textbooks. Some believe that switching to technology can help improve learners’ education and also their learning system.

But what’s wrong with an ordinary outdated textbook? The first American history textbook was published and released in 1841. In the early nineteenth century, education was often part of religious training. Textbooks provide a guide to the syllabus, exercises, activities and suggestions for further reading. iPads serve just the same purpose rather than having to carry about six textbooks a day, you could be carrying one iPad replacing almost six textbooks. But to every comparison, there are pros and cons. Let’s start with the pros of having an iPad as a textbook as to where the iPad help students to learn material faster and efficiently, iPads could improve classroom education and E-textbooks cost less compared to printed textbooks. The cons to having an iPad as a textbook could be that health problem could occur such as eyestrain, headaches and blurred vision. It can also become a distraction to learners as social media could be downloaded on their iPads. IPads are expensive and not everyone will be able to afford them. Now the pro and cons of having a textbook. The pro is that a textbook withholds a lot of information, it is cheaper and one is able to fix it when damaged or replace it. The cons on the other hand textbooks can be very heavy which could be an issue when carrying and buying multiple books at once could cost more than an iPad. It also destroys the ecosystem when not recycled. Now that we have outlined the important information it makes it easier for us to see what’s best for us and the future generation.
