Nust graduate heads up Nedbank Tsumeb branch
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust), Timotheus Shipopyeni started his working career as a sales executive at the Nedbank branch in the northern town of Eenhana.After being in the position since 2010, he was recently promoted to head up the Nedbank branch in Tsumeb.
Shipopyeni is excited about his new role and is ready to take up the challenge.
As branch manager at Nedbank Tsumeb he will be responsible for the overall branch management and operational functions of the branch.
“My core responsibilities as branch manager revolve around the acquisition of new clients and the retention of existing clients, as well as delivering a world-class benchmark for customer service and the marketing of our products.
“Additionally, I will have to ensure that the branch meets and exceeds its monthly set target,” he said.
His new role will also see him managing the branch budget and gives him overall responsibility for staff management, as well as the creation of a sound working environment for his colleagues.
He believes his promotion comes as a result of his good communication and networking skills, a skillset he intends to carry into his new role. “Generating new business, maintaining and developing good relationships with new and existing clients, exceeding branch targets and ensuring that the branch is profitable, are going to be my key responsibilities in my new role,” he added.
