Success
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. At least that’s what it says in the dictionary. And yet, that’s not what you think of when saying that somebody is successful. But maybe it’s not our misinterpretation of the word, but rather the change in our aims, in our definitions of purpose, in our priorities. In our minds, success is linked to money or fame. In the modern world. A world in which success is defined by authority and a number on an ATM machine. A world in which mistakes are wrong and failure is a bad thing. The youth of today is scared into paralyses. How could they not be? When failing means not being successful, and not being successful means not accomplishing your purpose. They are scared of bad grades, scared of picking the wrong subject to study, scared of taking risks. So let’s redefine success. Let’s redefine it as waking up with 44 and realizing that you have created a life that you are proud of. Whether that means being the CEO of a finance company, or being a freelance artist travelling the world. Because success is not what everyone tells you it is, success is what you want it to be, success is what you make it.
And we learn just that! We leave school as successful as we can be, ready to succeed in a life after school!
