From 1 to 3 March beauty enthusiasts form Windhoek had the chance to attend the Beauty Fashion and Lifestyle Expo (BFLE) which took place at the Sports Klub Windhoek (SKW).

The expo featured 35 exhibitors and also boasted presentations by make-up and hair specialists, a fashion show, demonstrations, modelling workshops and bridal and matric farewell planning.

Guest were greeted with a display of golden wrapped chocolates and a table decorated drinks and had the opportunity to engage with some of the best beauty and fashion vendors in town.

The aim of the expo is to reinforce business relationships in a relaxed environment and to provide a marketing platform for exhibitors.

According to Andeline Wieland, Miss Continents 2017, people working in the fashion and beauty industry should not limit themselves. “We should get our r ideas out there. I make my own jewellery at home and at the same time I am studying my honours degree in journalism. It takes about three hours to finish one piece, so the more you experiment the better,” she says.

According to some exhibitors it is important to harness and protect physical and inner beauty. “Beauty can be a fragile thing. It is deeply treasured but can be be snatched up and lost easily. There are always flashes, glimpses of our beauty in the things we do, in the world around us, in the people around us,” says Wlina Jones, a hairstylist at I am Hair and Beauty.

The event was hosted in partnership with Radio Wave, Aqua Splash, the Sign Shop, the Miss Namibia Pageant, I am Hair and Beauty, Bio Sculptures Gel, Helene’s Photography, Graftobian Namibia, Glalaxi Productions and Miss Teen Namibia.
