“You can say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one”

Westside High

- Elzeyn Nanuses

Vivian Böhmer has an intense love for music. She says that music is not just sound being made or instruments being played, but music is an entity within the soul. Since she was 3 Vivian had the love for music. She grew up in a household full of music lovers like her. Her dad who was in a band and her mom enjoys music by artists like Toni Braxton and the late Whitney Houston.

When she was 15 she joined the church choir in pursuit of her love for music. She can play two musical instruments, the guitar and piano. She realised that music was more than adoration as she wanted a profession in the music field. She is inspired by artists such as Bebe and Cece Winans (gospel artists) and Jencarlos Canela (Hispanic artist). Her love for pianos was inspired by a well-known artist such as Lionel Richie and her love for guitars by the late artist Prince. She then notes that her personal role model is Mrs Ingrid Van Wyk, because MrsVan Wyk is a woman to look up to, a virtuous woman. She is what one would call ideal and motivating in every sense, inspiring those she crosses paths with.

Vivian's favourite song is a gospel song sang by Cece Winans - It wasn't easy. This song means a lot to her, because the message it passes to us is that Jesus endured pain while he was being crucified. She also composed her very own songs of which two are in Spanish and three in English. Vivian has plans to pursue her dream and love for music. We want to wish Vivian all the best for her future endeavours.
