Space Science Has Become Part of Everyday Life
The Assistant Director of the University of Namibia Oshakati Campus, Lucas Mpangula, has underscored the importance of space exploration in understanding planet earth.
Speaking at the World Space Week celebration at UNAM Oshakati Campus where astronaut Matthias Maurer shared his journey, Mpangula said space science and technology have transformed how we understand the world.
He noted that it has become part of everyday life, as satellites support communication, navigation, weather forecasting, disaster management, agriculture, environmental monitoring and many other activities that contribute to society and the economy.
"Space is not only about how far one can go, but what else can be learned, discovered and created," Mpangula said.
