Chula Chula targets top positions

Northern-based Premier League side Eeshoke Chula Chula have set their sights on finishing the first round of the premiership season in the top six of the table. Coach John Sikerete said this after his side collected four points this past weekend, placing them ninth on the table.
The team beat Okahandja United 1-0 on Saturday at the garden town before travelling to Otjiwarongo, where they played to a 0-0 stalemate against Mighty Gunners on Sunday.
Sikerete remains optimistic about his team’s chances of moving up the table even if they are currently lingering in the bottom half of the table.
“In actual fact, we feel that the team is not in such a bad position and our aim is to complete the first round of the season in the top six or five.
“There are new faces in the team and I must say that they are getting to gel, and we are also building towards unity," he said.
“As a coach, I am not worried about anything at this moment in time because I have full confidence in the ability of the team to go up the table,” Sikerete added.
Big dreams
Chula Chula has won two of their last nine matches while dropping two points on five occasions, coupled with two losses this season.
The team returned to the northern part of the country and is now preparing for the MTC Maris Cup that will be contested only by the 16 clubs of the Debmarine Premiership, with the prize money set at a staggering N$1.5 million winner-takes-all extravaganza.
“We are back in the north and took a day off due to the travelling, but the team will be ready for the cup competition," Sikerete said.
“Our mental strength in cup competitions is strong, but we still have to prepare well because we know that this is a knockout competition," the coach added.
