Five nations compete at Windhoek Golf Club

The Southern Regional All-Africa Challenge Trophy women’s golf tournament officially begins on Tuesday at Windhoek Golf Club.

The teams of Lesotho, Eswatini, South Africa and Zimbabwe were all expected to arrive in the Namibian capital by yesterday. A practice round is scheduled for Monday.

Golfers will compete over three days as part of the official regional qualifier to the continental All Africa Challenge Trophy finals.

The Namibian national team, comprised of four outstanding women – Wilmari Woest, Ruanda de Beer, Wilna Bredenhann and Doulaine Holtzhausen – has shown incredible commitment and discipline.

Golf lovers across the country and supporters of women's sport are invited to come watch the matches. The daily tee-offs are from 09:00 daily until Thursday.

The Windhoek Golf Club, known for its challenging layout and scenic beauty, has made extensive preparations to ensure the course meets the requirements of the event. Recent rainfall, combined with the dedicated efforts of the club’s management and greenkeeping team, has resulted in excellent playing conditions.
