Hayes, Lourens centuries upset Wanderers

Trustco United opening batsmen Henry Hayes and captain Lo-han Louwrens each blasted a century as the host team convincingly won the T20 cricket match against Samsung FNB Wanderers, as part of the clubs’ annual derby.United stormed to a huge total of 236/2 – almost all of which was scored by Hayes (110 runs off 67 balls, with seven sixes and 11 fours) and Louwrens (103 off 47 balls, 10x6 5x4).
Louwrens was eventually dismissed when he was caught by Tommie van der Merwe off the bowling of Karl Birkenstock, while Hayes was bowled off the final ball of the innings by Nicolaas Scholtz, the Wanderers captain.
Although Wanderers was never on par to challenge the required run rate, the visitors still ended up with a respectable total of 194/6. Their innings were held together by opener JC Balt (64 off 40 balls, 4x6 5x4), with Ewald Steenkamp (25 off 19 balls, 4x4) and Bernard Scholtz (24 off 16 balls, 2x4 2x6) the next best contributors.
Louwrens used ten bowlers in the innings, with Jasper Engelbrecht finishing with two wickets for 5 runs in two overs.
