Namibia will make its return to the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup for the first time in six years next week when taking on Australia, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

The four contenders in Group C will play at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley, with the top three advancing to the Super Six phase of the tournament.

Namibia’s last participation at the U19 World Cup was in New Zealand 2018 – with a team from which captain Lo-han Louwrens, Shaun Fouché, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ben Shikongo, Mauritius Ngupita and Dewald Nell progressed to senior national coach Pierre de Bruyn’s Richelieu Eagles squads in recent times.

Now under the coaching supervision of Oscar Nauhaus, the Walvis Bay Salt Eagles will aim to once again make their mark in a significant way, similar to the Bangladesh 2016 tournament when they beat South Africa, made the quarter-final and finished in their best-ever placing (seventh).
