Tura Magic Ladies officially crowned

Tura Magic Ladies were officially crowned as champions of the FNB Women Super League on Saturday.

The club showed their dominance by beating Rightway Phoenix 17-1 at the Namibia Football Association technical centre.

Coach Shama Gure said he was pleased with the outcome following his team’s success.

“It was an exciting match and the performance was very good. I am happy.

“I can say that we started the season slow, but we knew what had to be done. We have been scoring goals even when our opponents asked for mercy,” he said.



Morale booster

The coach added heading into the CAF champions League is a morale booster.

This will elevate the players and the club in general with hope that they can deliver good results, he said.

“I must say, the league was competitive, but there were obviously teams that were struggling because they were just not prepared enough.

“We, however, expect the quality to improve next season with more preparation and all,” Gure said.

Ongwediva Qeens coach Nangolo Samuel also expressed his satisfaction with his team finishing sixth in the league.

“It was a good season for us because we have reached our target. We hope that we can improve next season in order to compete more.



Other results

Ramblers Ladies and Ongwediva Queens ladies played to a 1-1 stalemate, while Girls and Goals beat Khomas Nampol 2-1.

V-Power Angels sealed a 1-0 victory over NUST Babes in a season in which the university team struggled.

The season also saw Omaheke Queens and Okahandja FC being relegated after poor performances in the league.
