Eliminators Table Tennis Club (ETTC) hosted an outreach camp in Rehoboth last weekend to teach skills and encourage participation in the sport.

The initiative forms part of their outreach programme, aimed at “sharing the joy of table tennis with new players and introducing the club to the communities.”

Club head coach Theo Beukes said they hosted their first training session in the programme at JTL Beukes Primary School.

“We were thrilled to welcome 42 enthusiastic players, of whom 33 were from the hosting school. The rest were from nearby schools, including Ruimte Primary School, Rehoboth High School and M and K Gertze High School, as well as home-schooled players,” he said.

“The afternoon was filled with energy and smiles, as learners tried out the basics of table tennis – from forehand strokes to footwork – while enjoying fun activities designed to keep everyone engaged.”

ETTC lauded the strong turnout, noting: “This exciting start shows the passion and potential in Rehoboth. We look forward to seeing many young champions grow from this experience!”
