Gravity Cup brings young players together

The third circuit of the Indongo Toyota/Gravity Cup series kicked off in Windhoek and Walvis Bay over the weekend.

Taking place at the Windhoek Technical High School (HTS) rugby field in Windhoek, all the players brought their A-game.

The under-14s from Windhoek Afrikaans Private School (WAP) and the Windhoek High School (WHS) A team kickstarted the day with WHS A beating WAP with a whopping 24-0. Thereafter, the under-15s from Jan Mohr Secondary School and the Okahandja school team had a showdown, with both obtaining 12 points at the end.

Later, WHS B and Windhoek Gymnasium faced off, with the latter coming out victorious with a 29-5 scoreline.

The under-15s from WHS A and Dr Lemmer then got the opportunity to face off, with WHS A proving to be unbeatable with a whopping 26-0 victory.

Showdown

Meanwhile, the under-19s from Delta Secondary School Windhoek and Dr Lemmer High School clashed later that afternoon, with Dr Lemmer coming out with a 15-0 victory.

A game between HTS and Jan Mohr’s under-19s ended in HTS’ favour with 22-0. Shortly after, the under-14s from WAP got another chance to prove themselves when they played against Windhoek Gymnasium, but they lost this one 31-0.

The under-15s from Jan Mohr and Dr Lemmer faced off, with both teams bringing their A-game in a close match, with Jan Mohr crowned victorious with a 15-10 win.

The under-19s from Jan Mohr got another opportunity to show off in a showdown against Dr Lemmer, but the Rehoboth team proved yet again that they are unbeatable with a 24-0 victory.

The WHS under-14 teams went head to head, with the A team rushing to an incredible 48-0 win.

To end off the rugby games for the day, the under-19s from Delta got an opportunity to change their fate when they played against HTS, but the technical school remained unbeatable with a 31-6 final score. The finals will be held on 27 and 28 May.
