The event which took place on Saturday 2 March, brought together people from all walks of life,
radiated love and hope as participants trod the path towards a brighter future for young cancer
warriors.
Amidst the golden sands of Namibia, the collaboration between the Namibian Cancer Association
and the Lions Club shone brightly, symbolizing the strength that can be found when communities
unite for a common cause.
With banners held high and determination in their hearts, participants embarked on a journey that
transcended physical distances to reach the hearts of those affected by childhood cancer.
What made this walk even more remarkable was the heartfelt contribution of the Lions Club, who
generously donated $5 000 to support the cause.
Participants who showed up paid N$50 All these proceeds will be donated to the Namibian
Cancer Association, CHICA House.
The financial aid is not just a figure; it represents a tangible expression of love and solidarity for the
children battling cancer and their families.
The Lions Club's commitment to making a difference echoes the ethos of compassionate giving that
defines their organization.
“The goal is to raise awareness and help those who genuinely need it” said Holger Sircoulomb.
Beyond the immediate impact of the walk and the donation, the true beneficiaries are the young
souls fighting their battles at the Chica House, the dedicated children's cancer department of the
Namibian Cancer Association.
The proceeds from the event will be directed towards providing essential resources, medical
assistance, and emotional support for these brave youngsters, creating a ripple effect of care and
kindness that will touch their lives positively.
The Chica House stands as a beacon of hope, a place where courage is nurtured, and smiles are
rekindled.
Thanks to the collective efforts of the Namibian Cancer Association and the Lions Club as well as
fellow Namibians who attended the event, this haven for healing will receive the necessary backing
to continue its vital mission in the face of childhood cancer.
As we reflect on this heartwarming event, the echoes of laughter, camaraderie and shared purpose
resonate.
It serves as a reminder that when communities come together with love in their hearts, they have
the power to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
The Namibian Cancer Association and the Lions Club have not just organized a walk; they're making
a difference, leaving a mark on the fight against childhood cancer.
