From a project school with only about 200 grade eight learners who made use of the facilities of Jan Mohr Secondary School, with only 10 classrooms and a small office for the principal, Chairman Mao Zedong High School has since grown into a magnificent school with three floors and impressively structured buildings that continue to captivate with their glorious beauty.

The school is a donation from the Republic of China to Namibia and was named after the first Chinese president.

A school with humble beginnings, it is now well equipped with all sports facilities, with a stadium and a tartan track. There are extracurricular activities such as netball, soccer, basketball, debating and a choir that never ceases to amaze with its melodious voices.

We have a large library with computers where learners get to do their homework. There are three science labs and a computer lab. My school has a very nice, modern and large hall, as well as 23 classrooms, all equipped with projectors, remote control monitors and a podium. We have a music room and an art room. My school also offers Mandarin classes.

Chairman Mao Zedong High School is a disciplined school because it has strong future leaders who are dedicated to doing their work, with the help of the amazing teachers and principal who work towards achieving one goal - which is to strive to success. The teachers are hardworking, super dedicated to their work and maintain professionalism in every area, with a touch from our new principal, who is very calm and loves order.
