Coastal High dominates essay writing competition.

Bannerman Resources recently celebrated the winners of its essay competition, with Lino Klazen from Coastal High School taking first place. The contest encouraged learners to share ideas about mining, environmental care, and Namibia’s future, drawing entries from across the country.

Klazen’s winning essay focused on balancing mining, economic growth, and protecting the environment. Another learner from Coastal High, Immanuel Gariseb, came third for his ideas on sustainable mining technologies.

At the awards ceremony, Werner Ewald, Bannerman Resources’ Managing Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to education. He explained that Bannerman has been supporting educational programs for over 12 years. The essay competition is part of their efforts to get young people thinking critically about important topics like uranium mining and sustainability.

The contest, which started as a small project in the Khorixas and Arandis regions, aims to strengthen connections between Bannerman and local communities. Employees play a key role by working directly with schools to build stronger relationships.

Winner Lino Klazen said the award was more than a prize - it was a chance to raise awareness about important issues and inspire other young Namibians.

Bannerman Resources plans to expand its education programs as part of its goal to empower youth and promote sustainable development in Namibia.
