The Windhoek Gymnasium debating programme has reached an unprecedented milestone this season, defined by mastery, preparation and collective determination.

After navigating a gruelling series of rounds, the team emerged victorious in the regional circuit, outmanoeuvring more than ten rival schools to secure their title. This consistent dominance not only earned them the championship trophy but also paved a clear path to the upcoming national competition.

These victories were forged through months of disciplined preparation. The debaters dedicated countless hours to refining their logic, dissecting complex global topics, and perfecting the art of persuasive delivery. Throughout the tournament, judges frequently singled out the team for their exceptional clarity of thought, the sophisticated structure of their arguments, and their ability to deliver razor-sharp, confident rebuttals under pressure.

Reflecting on the journey that led them to the top, team member Thomas S. remarked, “A flower cannot bloom without sunlight and nutrients. If you continue to stay in places that don't nourish you, then you'll never bloom,” highlighting the internal drive that fuelled their success.

Overcoming a decade-long drought, the “A Team” did more than just secure a trophy; they reclaimed a legacy ten years in the making. Despite facing rivalry, prejudice and discrimination, the team remained unshakable. They proved that the “A” in their name stands for more than just a ranking; it represents the resilience required to bring the cup back to where it rightfully belongs.

By embodying the highest ideals of the Debate Society, these students have achieved what no previous team could, cementing their place in school history. They have brought immense honour to Windhoek Gymnasium, demonstrating that grace under pressure is the true mark of a champion.

As the dust settles on this monumental win, the stage is perfectly set for the next generation to continue this new era of excellence.
