On the 7th of April 2025, the International University of Management (IUM) signed what many attendees called a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hub for Namibia Innovation commonly known as the Ni!H(Namibia Innovation !Hub) at the IUM Dorado Park Campus in Windhoek. This agreement came just days after IUM concluded a MoU with the Namibia Revenue Agency (NAMRA), demonstrating the institution’s growing commitment to national development through strategic collaborations.

This latest MoU sets the foundation for a long term partnership aimed at strengthening Namibia’s innovation ecosystem. The partnership will focus on co-creating solutions that support entrepreneurship, nurture local talent, and translate research into real world impact. At the signing ceremony, IUM Vice Chancellor Prof. Osmund Mwandemele described the agreement as a milestone. “We recognise that innovation is not merely a tool, but a necessary catalyst for national development,” he said. “Together, we will work to strengthen the innovation ecosystem by nurturing talent, supporting entrepreneurship, and translating research into real-world impact.”Mwandemele further added.

Chairperson of the Hub for Namibia Innovation, Kauna Ndilula, emphasized the importance of structure in turning ideas into solutions. “Namibia, like the rest of Africa, does not lack innovative ideas. What we often lack is a structured system that fully nurtures ideas to fruition and supports creativity with structure and intent ,” Ndilula emphasised .Ndilula further explained, “This MoU is more than a formal agreement , it's a framework to co-create, co-deliver, the kind of infrastructure that intentionally nurtures innovation from idea to impact .”. The agreement reflects a shared vision to harness local creativity and drive sustainable development through innovation in Namibia .
