KPS Career Day broadens mindsets

Karibib Private School (KPS) hosted a Career Day in July, where learners and teachers welcomed representatives from various universities and organisations for career inspiration.

The event was aimed at providing learners with insights into potential career paths and educational opportunities. Present at the Career Day where institutions such as the International University of Management (IUM), Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Namibia (Unam) and the Namibia Aviation Training Academy (NATA), among many others.

The learners from KPS showed immense interest in two particular instutions, IUM and NUST. Representatives from these institutions were on hand to provide detailed information about their programmes, scholarship opportunities and campus life.

Learners were particularly interested in the practical courses offered at both institutions, such as engineering, information technology and business management. The interactive sessions and one-on-one discussions allowed them to gain a clearer understanding of what each university has to offer, making it easier for them to make informed decisions about their futures.

Despite NUST and IUM pulling a crowd, NATA's presentation was the highlight of the day, captivating the audience with its dynamic and entertaining approach. The academy showcased the exciting world of aviation, offering learners a glimpse into careers as pilots, air traffic controllers and aviation engineers.

The event also saw participation from other schools. The inclusion of learners from neighbouring towns added a sense of community and camaraderie to the day, as they mingled with KPS learners and shared their aspirations.

No event is complete without refreshments, and Career Day at KPS was no exception. Hot dogs and cool drinks, generously sponsored by local businesses, were served to all attendees, providing a welcome break between presentations. The refreshments were a hit, adding a festive touch to the educational event and allowing learners to relax and socialise with their peers.

Overall, Career Day at KPS was a tremendous success, providing learners with valuable information and inspiration for their future careers. The event not only highlighted the importance of planning for the future, but also brought the community together in a celebration of learning and opportunity.
