Namibia’s U/17 Sevens Return: A New Chapter Begins

The flame of Namibian youth rugby burns bright again as the My Zone NSSR U/17 squad departs for Worcester, South Africa, to compete in the National U/17 Sevens Tournament from 9 to 11 October 2025.

Following last year’s successful re-entry into the SA Inter-Provincial Sevens after a five-year break, this year’s team is determined to build on that momentum and carve a new legacy for Namibian schoolboy rugby.

The 12-player squad, selected after trials at Windhoek Gymnasium, will compete under head coach Justin Nel. Drawn in Pool B with Western Province, Pumas, and Limpopo, Namibia will face:

Limpopo – Fri, 10 Oct at 09:00

Pumas – Fri, 10 Oct at 11:40

Western Province – Fri, 10 Oct at 14:30

Results will determine their playoff fixtures on Saturday, 11 October.

The tournament features top provincial sides including Western Province, Blue Bulls, and KwaZulu-Natal a true test of talent and resilience.
