Phenomenal farewell at valedictory event
The valedictory ceremony of this year was nothing short of a beautiful, memorable event that left a lasting impression on all attendees. It was a day of celebration, reflection, and excitement as the graduating class of 2024 bid farewell to their school years. The ceremony began with a heartfelt prayer and welcoming from Pastor Hein, setting a reflective and grateful tone for the day. Following this, our very own Ms. Bezuidenhoudt (affectionately known as Ms. B) took the stage to deliver an inspiring speech that motivated students and emphasised the importance of perseverance and ambition in the year to come.
Next, sashes were handed out to graduates by their respective register teachers, marking their official transition from students to alumni. The head girl and head boy delivered the most incredible speeches, showering praise on their teachers and leaving the audience inspired. Their words touched on gratitude, memories, and the excitement for the future.
The school choir then took centre stage and gave a performance that left everyone in awe. Their voices harmonised perfectly as they performed with passion and enthusiasm. It was one of the highlights of the day, described by many as “phenomenal.”
Afterward, the much-anticipated prize-giving began. Lee Elrico Gawanab stood out, receiving the most rewards for his outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements. The students also received their prizes for their hard work throughout the year, while certificates were awarded to those who actively participated in clubs and other school activities.
To cap it all off, each class representative delivered a speech, sharing their journey and words of encouragement. Ms. Hamukwaya concluded the ceremony by leading the symbolic release of balloons into the sky. The gesture reminded everyone that “the sky is not the limit” and that there is always room for growth and achievement.
Families and graduates took pictures together, marking the end of a day filled with joy and pride. Graduates then gathered in the hall for a delicious meal and dessert, with music playing softly in the background. It was a day to remember, filled with celebration, warmth, and incredible memories.
