Do you like spelling? Well, Walvis Bay Private School does!

Ten learners from Grades 4 to 7 had a chance to display their spelling skills at the annual Spelling Bee. They had words to study beforehand.

The debaters had to watch and support the top spellers in the primary phase. The judges rang a bell if you spelt the word incorrectly. The judges were Ms Nikita Puren, Mrs Tanya van Schalkwyk and Ms Charlize van Zyl.

There were easy words like “angry” for the Grade 4s and difficult words like “incarcerated” for the Grade 7s. It was a fun experience to watch and to see who the top spellers were.

In Grade 4, the top speller was Joshua Lestrade, in Grade 5 Ryan Mostert, in Grade 6 Kian Martins and in Grade 7 Caden de Vries. Congratulations to them all, and looking forward to the 2026 champions!
